The Washington Times: GOP presidential contenders heading to ‘South Carolina Freedom Summit’ in May

The conservative advocacy group Citizens United is teaming with another Republican congressman to host a forum in a state with an early presidential primary — this time in South Carolina.

Rep. Jeff Duncan, South Carolina Republican, is co-hosting the “South Carolina Freedom Summit” in Greenville on May 9, following up on Rep. Steve King’s “Iowa Freedom Summit” in the Hawkeye State in January that was co-hosted by Citizens United.

“Our strength and foundation lies in conservative policies,” Mr. Duncan said. “Coming off of the 2014 midterm elections, right now is the best time to gather our national leaders in South Carolina to hear their ideas for the future of our nation.”
